How do I clear my cache?

If you are experiencing errors on the site, this is often due to your data “cache.” Read the information HERE on what your cache is and how to clear it across multiple devices, to resolve the problem.

 

I am a returning customer and I can't login!

SO MUCH can be lost in communication to get from point A to point B.

So, I made a “bootleg” video I just streamed live from my desk to show you all. I can make a prettier video later… but for now, this should give you all the nuts and bolts of what you need to login and play your videos.

Trouble Viewing Videos

Usually a video Playback issue is a CACHE problem, your computer CACHE is bits of microdata communicating with the website, whenever a website has a big update the computer can have issue communicating and it needs to be reset. Learn how to clear your cache here.

on a rare occasion Lauren could have changed a video playback setting and that could cause the issue or sometimes a video is duplicated. If you’re not sure how to get things settled so you can view your videos please contact us.

If you have done all these things and still have issues please email me at boldnotionquilting@gmail.com and let me know how far you got and the problems you’re having. Unfortunately, this is all user error as most everything on the site is working well. We just have to figure out where the error is to get you all settled!

How long are online classes available for?

Once you have completed your purchase, you will be able to access your classes as many times as you need! Please continue to refer back to as much as you would like to get concepts down. No more paying $300 for a class you can only view once, join in on the quilting fun as much as you need here on Boldnotionquilting.com

What comes with each online class?

Drawing Based

    • Drawing-based classes have instructions on how to work your way through the designs utilizing just the design concepts of breakdown and construction.
    • They will come with Worksheet PDF printouts and you usually only need a paper and pen to take them (and a printer if you are printing the worksheets). Sometimes these classes have bonus content with them such as a quick tutorial for stitching.
    • There is always a bonus or added content in your classes and the value is always more than the cost of admission!

Quilt Along

    • Quilt alongs are usually a PROJECT-BASED CLASS. Plan on:
      • practicing drawing the designs on worksheets
      • having practice stitch instruction before the actual stitching on the project.
      • watching me quilt designs on the project itself with full instruction
    • These classes come with PDF printouts for worksheets and materials; should you not have access to a printer please reach out to Lauren at Boldnotionquilting@gmail.com

The beauty of these classes is that we go through everything in such detail before you even begin to free motion quilt that you feel so confident by the time you go to the machine and quilt on your project. Once you take one quilt along you’ll be hooked! You can purchase everything you need for your classes here. 

Free Motion Mastery

    • Free motion mastery classes really take my personal free motion quilting journey from “I have no idea what materials I need to make the quilting look the way I want it to” to “I can free motion quilt anything”
      • We log all the building blocks one at a time through a series of multiple videos and instructions per mastery class.
      • Each mastery class has a theme to help you build your skills as much as possible the fastest way as possible
      • While none of the classes have a prerequisite you aren’t required to take Class 101, 102, and 103 before you take class 104, I strongly recommend that you do because in each class we touch on various topics that make the next class so much easier to sink in.

I broke down all the learning over my years of quilting into easy to follow building blocks just for you, and I would hate for something not to sink in because you missed a previous class. But If you’re confident you know ALL that you need to know Just jump right into whichever class makes you happy! Worst case scenario you hit pause and jump into the previous class to get your bearings!

Can I take your online or in person classes if I am a sit-down quilter?

Absolutely! Over 70% of the people who take my classes are sit down quilters. I started out as a sitdown quilter and I try my best to give you tips and tricks for sit down quilting during the instruction to help it feel more in your wheelhouse. If you can take the machine out of the equation, however, you’ll realize that all of the thread paths and designs work the same on a sitdown.. you just have to move your fabric instead of the machine.

Where is the online class I paid for?

Once you login visit My Account and all your classes will be there under the “My courses” link. You need to be LOGGED IN to be able to see the classes you paid for and watch them.

The website switched over in January of 2020 and you may have paid for classes on the old website that didn’t transfer to the new website. Not to worry, you paid for these classes and they are yours. Feel free to email Lauren and let her know, after October 2020 many of the Dream Big, Simply gorjuss, and Leaf QAL  participants cannot be looked up to verify payment, as payment recipts only goes back 3 years (this gives you 8 months from the time of the new site until October for me to get your account squared away).

if you aren’t sure if I’ll be able to look you up, still contact me anyway you never know, and often as the purchaser you have more access to your receipts than I do as a business. We will do our best to figure it out. When you email me please:

  • Include your email associated with the old website and the email you’re using on the new website. This way Lauren can verify your purchase and upload you into the appropriate classes.
  • Include the names of classes you paid for.

How will I know when new online/in person classes come available?

I send out alerts on my “Bold Notion”

If for some reason you don’t get emails or they go to your spam after you have signed up make sure to open one and hit the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner and “add Bold Notion Quilting to your safe senders” list.

Where can I view my order history?

If your order was placed after January 2020, Once you log in, view your orders here.

Bold Notion Quilting got a new website in January 2020, if you have purchased anything before then, and you might need to see your order or grab a receipt; your PayPal account will have a record of it as well your credit card company.

If you need a detailed order slip, again your PayPal will have a record of it, or I can look up anything within 3 years from TODAY’s DATE, I will, just include your email along with the order information you need.

When will my products arrive?

Due to COVID-19 SHIPPING everywhere is Delayed by a few days Even Priority Mail isn’t guaranteed within 3 days.  Please be patient and watch those tracking numbers emailed to you with your order. 

On average you receive your orders in 5 days but it can take as many as 7 from the date of purchase if you select priority, if you instead select  first class add 3+ business days for delivery.

It typically takes 1-3 days to process all orders. Once received and processed on my end, please allow 1-3 days via priority mail from Florida, USA to get to you (if you’re in the US). If you are outside of the USA it varies based on country, Canada is 7-10 days and Australia and UK is 10-15 business days.

If you instead select first class add 3+ business days domestically and a week or more internationally.

The closer to Florida you are the sooner they get to you!

If it has been over 7 days and you haven’t received your order, please reach out to Lauren directly! There may be an error in shipping or your order could have been overlooked for packing.

If you are outside of the USA and you had your items sent first-class, that does not allow for tracking and your items cannot be found if lost; or replaced if lost or damaged. First-class shipping international usually makes it to where it needs to go but it is a “ship at your own risk” should you live in a country with questionable shipping reliability, which only you could know. we are a small business and to make shipping affordable for other countries first class is an option but it does not carry insurance or tracking so there is no way to locate it should it go missing and no additional funds are available to replace goods for postal mishandling. We do our best to pack well to avoid breakage in transit but are unable to anticipate the rigors of an international journey. If you’re worried about the handling of your items please select priority shipping so that we can track it and have up to 200$ insurance to claim should something happen to your order.

Only priority international has insurance and tracking for up to 200$ worth of products. this tracking allows for me to find your items and the insurance allows for me to replace them for you with very little hassle for you.

If shipping outside of the USA and your parcel takes longer than 14 business days to get to you, priority international mail please reach out to Lauren immediately to ensure your item is on its way to you.

We add new areas all the time, so put an item in your cart and proceed to ship to see if rates pop up! Shipping can vary based on the destination and shipping speed you choose. Once you select your products and enter your address, the website will give you your shipping options.

If your country is not available, it might have been overlooked. Feel free to email Lauren and see if I can add the shipping destination you need.

If you choose first class international to save on shipping, please note that your package cannot be tracked down if lost, or replaced; as it will NOT have insurance and tracking like a priority package international shipment.

First-class international shipping usually arrives where it should but without tracking and insurance is a ship at your own risk should the package or contents end up damaged or lost.

How can I secure long-arming services?

For edge-to edge services, submit all your information on this page and ship in your quilt top ASAP to secure your spot in line. Quilts are completed on a first come first serve basis. Once your quilt is received we will let you know your number in line!

Please enter all of your information in as accurately as possible, mismeasurements can result in additional charges to your account.

Your quilt will not be sent back until such charges are paid in full.

For custom orders, please fill out this form as the slots are extremely limited for the year (less than 10 quilts per year).

The form allows for you to send in an image and this is extremely helpful in getting you an accurate quote.

Please reach out for custom quilting 6-8 months in advance of your project deadline completion date. On rare occasions, Exceptions can be made to get your quilt done sooner.

The way I work my scheduling: once you agree to your quilting quote and date for shipping your quilt in, depending on the size of your quilt I could have it for up to 3 weeks to quilt it and ship it back. Should I run behind schedule or can’t meet your deadline I will call and make the proper arrangements to get your quilt finished and back to you as soon as possible.

Luckily, if you’re still working to finish it, this will give you time to get your custom slot scheduled and to get your WIP done!

How big should my backing be for long-arming?

Please make your backing a good 6” bigger on each side of your top this makes loading your quilt onto the machine very easy. For all tips for preparing your quilt top, please check out my tips here:

How soon should I send my quilt in for Long-arming?

  • For edge to edge quilting, send your quilt in ASAP and it will get worked on in the order it is received.  Edge-to-edge tops take 2-4 weeks for completion and are sent back once completed.
  • For custom quilting, I will need your quilt AT LEAST the week before it is scheduled.

How long will you have my quilt?

For best results, stick to a 2-4 week rule for custom quilts.

  • Send your quilt in at least the week before it’s due
  • I will hold onto your top for custom quilting  for 2-3 weeks after I receive it,  This will allow for me to plan it and quilt it.
  • Once your top is quilted,  I send it back out to you and send tracking. your quilt isn’t out of your possession for more than 4 weeks usually.

I don’t like to have a large backlog and enjoy scheduling my time. I am sure you enjoy getting a speedy turnaround on custom tops!

Sometimes I run behind due to running the shop, quilting custom tops, and traveling to teach, if I am behind I will call and we will work out a new timeline. some people can be flexible and some cannot so we will play musical quilts until the schedule works out just right.

  • For edge-to-edge quilts, the time varies. I do these between custom orders and shouldn’t have your quilt longer than a week or 2 once it is received. In the busy times, it could be up to 3-4 weeks. If I am running longer than 4 weeks I  will call/email and notify you directly, with the phone/email you provided at check-in. In many cases I do Both every few days until I reach you as it is important to me that we stay connected and on the same page during the quilting process.

Return Policy

Return Policy Details

We are a small business and a military family, this is an online shop as well as an in-person quilt store. All returns or exchanges need to be communicated within 30 days of the package delivery date, and agreed upon BEFORE you send back your item (s).

I try to be as amenable as possible, if something was shipped in error, was harmed during the shipping process, or is defective please notify BNQ immediately and we will certainly take care of you, and of course, if you have any questions otherwise reach out, we will do our best to help.

Digital Content Return Policy Updated January 2022:

Digital content like any other is consumable, once you purchase and play any portion of the class or download the documents, this is something I can see, your class will not be refunded. Just like purchasing a DVD, you cannot watch it and then return it if you didn’t like the movie, if you buy a candy bar and eat it you can’t return the wrapper and ask for a refund on the candy bar. You’ve already consumed the content and therefore your class cannot be returned. I strive to adequately convey what is to be learned in the class via the description before you purchase, please read all descriptions thoroughly, and if you’re still not sure about a class before you buy feel free to email Lauren at Boldnotionquilting@gmail.com and relay any questions or call. I also strive to make my classes PACKED with information and a good bang for your buck, so far I have had no complaints, but please don’t let this discourage you from giving me feedback. I definitely want to know if your experience was less than enjoyable.

In the event that a class is purchased twice (duplicate accounts.. etc..), accidents happen and I will of course refund the cost of the additional classes purchased by you as I technically can’t give you the same class twice. Don’t worry, accidents happen and I’ll take care of you. This is not something my system can prevent or flag if it happens so be aware and let me know if you think something like this has happened I can look into it for you not to worry.

Physical Products Return Policy Updated January 2022:

Returns are on a case-by-case basis and usually are approved for store credit/refund via payment method minus shipping & processing fees. You must alert BNQ within 30 Days from the delivery date to be eligible for a return.

All Items must be:

  • New and unused
  • In original packaging
  • Quilt kits: fabrics need to be unused in every way, not ironed, uncut, unwashed, un-dried, and in an odor-free environment (no smoking or incense) to be eligible for a return: yardage will need to be verified as such upon its arrival BEFORE your return is processed.
  • Of course, if your items were damaged in shipping please contact us immediately with images of a shipping container, label, and all contents. This will ensure the insurance claim can be processed by the mail provider, we will send out your new items immediately and handle the insurance claim after so you don’t have to wait to work on your projects.
  • If items are missing or damaged in your order we definitely want to know so we can get out the proper items right away! Please contact us here
  • Defective items will require email and photo follow up.

**Should you need money returned to a card for an order that you simply changed your mind or decided you won’t use the items,  your order will be subject to processing fees which are simply the cost incurred to both charge your card for the order and to return funds to your card. this is usually 3% of the order total plus $1 per transaction. (this is not applied for returns due to defective mail handling) If your order was eligible for free shipping and Items were shipped out ot you the shipping cost will be deducted form the overall refund value.

Cuts of fabric cannot be returned as they cannot be held and sold in the same quantity for future sales. Items that the packaging is broken or missing cannot be returned if they were purchased and you simply changed your mind and want to return them. This is due to the fact that they cannot be resold without their packaging.
